CPP receives $5,000 grant
Central Park Players has received a $5,000 grant from the WKKK Fund of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation. The WKKK Fund is donor-advised and is funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation as part of a program that allows Kellogg Foundation board members to request grants in keeping with WKKF purposes. The CPP grant was requested by Dorothy A. Johnson to support enhanced cultural entertainment for people in the Tri-Cities.
CPP thanks Mrs. Johnson, the WKKK Fund, the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for the unrestricted grant.

Written by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer with music by Mary Rodgers and lyrics by Marshall Barer,
Once Upon a Mattress
has been charming musical theatre audiences since 1959. The play takes place in a fictional medieval kingdom where a curse has left King Sextimus unable to speak, and Queen Aggravain has taken control of the kingdom. In an attempt to prevent Prince Dauntless from marrying, Queen Aggravain decrees that only the princess who passes the queen's ridiculous tests may marry her son. That's not all -- no one else in the kingdom may marry until the prince does.
This is disturbing for Lady Larken and Sir Harry because Lady Larken is pregnant with Sir Harry's child. Fortunately, Sir Harry finds Winnifred the Woebegone, a princes who captivates Prince Dauntless and passes the queen's sensitivity test.
